10:30 a.m. Sermon
11:00 a.m. Service
12:00 p.m. Luncheon - Lunch will be served

Dear Jodo Shu Supporters;

We hope you are in good health during this hot summer weather. Autumn Higan (Autumnal Equinox) Service will be held as above. Higan is regarded as a special period for us to think about our forebears residing in the Pure Land of Amida Buddha. This is when a worship service has been traditionally observed.

Combining with Higan service, we will hold a memorial service for deceased children/grandchildren who unfortunately passed away at birth or in their childhood. A memorial tablet will be offered to extend a special prayer. If you wish a prayer for unborn/newborn/early deceased children, please fill out an application attached and return it to the temple office by Frisday, September 24. 2010 (Application is also available at our homepage: http://jodoshuna.org/). We wish to encourage those who are unable to attend the service but wish a prayer for deceased children to apply. A memorial tablet will be mailed to be enshrined at home after the prayer is made in the service.

Luncheon will follow the service and the Fujinkai will prepare lunch to be served. Please attend this service with your family and friends.
Namu Amida Butsu

  • For those who have family memorial tablets and urns at the Ihai/Nokotsudo at the temple, please visit and offer flowers/food offerings to your loved ones.
  • If you are available for help in preparation of food, parking, or reception table, please kindly assemble at 9:00 a.m. on September 24, 2010. We will appreciate your help.
